|
President Bush's proposed tax relief plan includes several benefits
for small businesses. Among them, the President’s plan would
increase the amount of money small business owners can deduct from
their taxes for investment in new equipment, such as machinery and
computers. Right now, the maximum deduction is $25,000. The
President’s plan would triple that to $75,000 beginning in 2003, and
adjust it for inflation thereafter. Democrats in the House of
Representatives have also proposed an economic plan that includes
tax benefits to businesses that invest in equipment and jobs.
It appears that the
two parties have some common ideas about stimulating the economy,
but stay tuned to Washington to see how the resulting budget impacts
businesses of all sizes!
