If you are thinking of
upgrading from MAS 90 to MAS 200 or MAS 200 for SQL, now
is the time! As of October 1, Best Software will begin
charging maintenance fees on users to customers upgrading
to a new platform. Until now, customers have paid one
low maintenance fee for multiple users, regardless of the
actual user count (i.e., maintenance was the same amount
for a customer with five users as one with twenty-five).
After October 1, maintenance fees for new customers or new
platforms will be be directly
related to user count.
Existing customers
will never be charged maintenance on current users or any
additional users added to your current platform.
Confused? Need to upgrade by September 30? Call us at
404.841.6240 today! |

| Are you aware of the
new tax benefits your company is entitled to when you purchase
software or hardware for your business? Recently, Congress
changed the law regarding the expensing of the purchase of
depreciable assets. Specifically, the limit has increased to
$100,000 for companies that qualify for Section 179. This IRC
section 179 was limited to specific types of assets (and a much
lower amount) but has now been expanded to include computer
software. This became effective for purchases after May 6, 2003.
This means that software purchases can be expensed up to
$100,000 in the first year, instead of capitalizing and
depreciating over three or more years. |
