Our new eNews feature– “Ask Charlie,” in which customers like you ask business-solution related questions of Charlie Kemmerer, MCG’s Vice-President of Front Office Solutions.
Question:
Dear Charlie: I think I’ve finally convinced the suits that our business can no longer compete without CRM. We’re starting the evaluation process…can you give me some guidelines on how we can prepare for the onslaught of vendors? Thanks, Sales Manager Sam.
Answer: Continued from last month…missed it or need a recap? Click here.
Dear Sam: Last month I urged you to forget about the software and focus on your business goals during the initial phase of a CRM project. This month, we’re talking about choosing a vendor. The right technology partner can make the difference between a successful implementation and proud ownership of some expensive paperweights. First, does the vendor ask you about the business goals you put so much thought into last month? Does he or she explain the use and management of data in terms of your business processes? Secondly, does the vendor understand the need to integrate the CRM system with accounting, human resources, or project management systems to give users a complete view of their customer interactions? Third, is the vendor committed to a partnership with your company throughout the life of your business? Do they have the experience, expertise, and bandwidth to support your growth and diversification? Determine your criteria for a solution provider, and stick to it!
