What are all those image001.gif files in my attachments?
Many people have logos embedded in their email signatures. When you 'Send SalesLogix' or 'Apply to Notes and History' you will be asked if you want to include the attachments. If you answer OK, then the embedded graphics are added to your SalesLogix Attachment tab. Sometimes, you might notice that there are no attachments on the email and you are prompted to keep the attachments. That is usually an embedded logo or graphic. If there isn't a document attached to the email, answer no to reduce the clutter. It's ok to right click and delete these, too.
Color-code your events for easy travel management.
If your SalesLogix users travel a lot and it is important for them to easily see where they are going to be, you can color-code the events to correspond to different locations. This can be real handy to keep you from scheduling an appointment in the Boston office when you plan to be in Dallas. In the Administrator (V6.1 and earlier), select Tools, Options, then Client Events. From here, you can add different locals with different colors.
Sending a quick update to the boss
Sometimes you need to keep someone updated on a hot topic or situation. So, you complete your call and enter your notes in SalesLogix. If the other person doesn't know that the notes are there, they would have to go searching to get updates. A simple way to send your notes:
1. Select the note on the Notes/History tab
2. Click on the 'Filter' option button. Notice that you now have a couple more buttons on the right.
3. click on the 'Email button'. This opens an email dialog box with the note in the body of the email. You can then fill in the recipient's email address.
