Sharing Groups in SalesLogix 6.2
In version 6.2, if the Administrator makes an update to shared group, he or she no longer needs to go into Architect to update the release of the group as needed to occur in previous releases. In 6.2, after modifying the group, the Group owner simply needs to select the Group in list view, right click on the Group name and then select Share Group from the Quick Menu. The next step is to highlight the User(s), Team(s) or Everyone and click OK. Note that if the Group is released to multiple Users or Teams that this series of steps has to be repeated for each one. This functionality is accessible to all users as well -- a regular user can now share and update a group.

IntelliSync Conflict Resolution and Duplicate Activities for SalesLogix 6.1
By default, when a data conflict occurs in Intellisync and the “Ignore All Conformation Items” option is checked, Intellisync will add both items to both systems, thus creating duplicates. For example:

  1. Enable Outlook Integration in the SalesLogix Administrator. Create a meeting in SalesLogix. The activity will be auto-created in Outlook. In Outlook, change the time of the meeting.
  2. Run Intellisync.

In this scenario Intellisync sees that there are two new activities that appear to be the same, but the times do not match, so Intellisync prompts the user to choose which activity is correct. With “Ignore All Confirmation Items” checked, the user has chosen not to see confirmations so the default action is to add both items. (Note: In this scenario, if Intellisync was run before the activity was edited in Outlook, it would be in the “sync stream” and editing it in Outlook would then simply update SalesLogix with the change.)

To change the default action to use when conflicts occur in Intellisync to “SalesLogix Wins” or “Outlook Wins” you can do the following:

  1. In the Sales Client, select Outlook > Outlook Sync Preferences. Click Configuration. Highlight the section you want to set up and click Advanced. Click the Conflict Resolution tab and choose the action you prefer.
  2. Repeat these steps for each section (Appointments, Events, etc.).
