When do I call Best for Support? When do I call MCG?

Call MCG for:

  • System customization (report design - Crystal Reports or FRx or integration needs)
  • Implementing a new application - setup and employee training
  • Network issues (or network review)
  • Classroom training
  • Any time you want to set up or implement a new function or feature in your system.
  • Whenever you aren't sure where to start!

Call Best Software for:

  • Program errors
  • Inter-module procedures (what-ifs like "If I do this in Inventory
  • Management, how will it affect Sales Order Processing?")
  • Troubleshooting (for example, your trial balance does not match general ledger account, or you're unable to reconcile accounts)
  • Funky forms (printing hanging or creeping, graphical vs. non-graphical form use)
  • Missing records
  • Compatibility issues (is my printer/operating system/workstation compatible with my software?)
  • Procedural questions ("How do I do a one-sided journal entry?")
  • Security questions

I just got my upgrade from Best – what do I do?
  • Call MCG to schedule onsite installation service performed by one of our experienced installation technicians. MCG professionals use time-tested upgrade standards to eliminate the variables for an upgrade project, which can include hardware issues, third-party product compatibility, data conversion, and more.

I’m on an older version of MAS 90 or MAS 200 – do I need to upgrade?
  • Yes! Best Software supports only two versions prior to the current version. For example, when version 4.0 is published, only versions 3.6x and 3.7x will be supported. MCG reserves the right to adhere to this policy on an individual basis!
    New versions also offer new features and ever-better technology. MCG recommends that all customers take advantage of this important benefit of their Client Care Plans.

Do I need to renew my Subscription Plan?
  • Best Client Care Plans (also known as Subscription Plans or Maintenance Plans) provide upgrades to your software as it is published. These upgrades help you maximize the investment you have made in your technology, and provide access to the support that you need.

    Only customers with current support plans can contact Best for telephone or email support, access the Best online support database, or purchase new users or modules for their systems.

    Client Care Subscription Plans do not include support services. Best Software offers Gold and Silver unlimited annual support plans, and telephone support is available from Best Software and MCG on a per-call basis.

Do I need classroom training or onsite training?
  • Some basic guidelines are: choose onsite training for learning to use a customization on your system, or learning about procedures specific to your business. Choose classroom training for a broad-based functional understanding of the system, employees new to using the system
